Located on one of the highest points of Varna – Pchelina neighborhood, impressive views of the whole city and Varna Bay unfold in front of the building. As if perched on a hillside, Gledka completely opens up to the landscape to give its residents a unique visual experience.

Key to the project is the balancing of the complex volume resulting from the steep slope and urban planning constraints. Despite the imposing floor plan, the building does not read as heavy, thanks to the carefully considered proportions, the work with the terrain and the horizontal articulation of the façade. The character of the building is achieved through a play of floating white horizontals that vary in thickness in gradual order. This design technique introduces dynamism and lightness into the otherwise cubic form of the building. The perception of height is mitigated by green sunken terraces on the upper floors, creating a kind of green crown connecting the building to its context. The composition of the façade is deliberately horizontal, resolved through alternating dark and light horizontals, representing on the one hand a finely textured graphite material and extensive glazing, and on the other a light plaster of the slabs. The result is a balanced and clean façade line that reduces the visual height of the building and fits it harmoniously into its environment.

The residential building is an example of architecture that does not compete with its context, but opens up to it and takes the relationship between a building and its greatest asset, the view, as its guiding design principle.
